Growing up in a family of teachers, I learned that teaching is a challenging job but also a rewarding one. My interest in teaching started with the inspiration I got from my family, especially my mother, who often shares her daily experiences with me. I also remember seeing my mother’s former students greet her, tell her about their lives, and express their love and gratitude. This made me realize how proud one can feel as a teacher, knowing the lasting impact you have on your students. These experiences inspired my passion for teaching, and I decided to follow in her footsteps.

Moreover, during my master’s studies, I met a teacher, Mr. Upadyaya, who completely changed my perspective on teaching. His style was inspiring, and he showed me the impact a teacher can have. Later, my supervisor guided me on using some practical skills and strategies in the classroom.

When I had to leave my job to move, I realized how much I missed my students and the classroom. While living in the UAE, I received job offers in sales and accounting, but I didn’t change my career. Instead, I focused on finding opportunities in teaching because I wanted to grow in this field and explore different educational settings.

One of my strengths as a teacher is my ability to adapt and reflect. I believe these qualities are important for growth in this profession. My hobbies, cooking, listening to music, and gardening, help me relax and manage stress.  I also enjoy walking in nature, listening to the nature sounds around me, feel the air, and observing the changes in the environment. This helps me feel refreshed and relaxed.

Now, as part of this Education program, I am learning about curriculum, assessment, lesson planning, inclusion, foundation, and Indigenous education. I also have the great opportunity to visit and observe different classrooms, which is important for me since I come from a different educational setting. I want to keep learning and build the skills needed to become a great teacher.
